Claremont Road, Leyton East London 1994.
Claremont Road was part of the well organised direct action campaign. "M11 Link Road Protest." It was a street of victorian terraced houses squatted, barricaded and fortified. In response to the construction of a four mile dual carriageway, that would run from Hackney Wick to Wanstead. That once built would literally divide communities by building a walled off road directly through them. Destroying over 350 homes and acres of green space in the process.
